This mid-century alcove studio is fairly compact — the kitchen and living room are in the same big room, and the sleeping alcove off the living room, at just under five feet wide, isn’t quite large enough to accommodate a queen bed. But the apartment is newly renovated, the big windows look out at the top floors of nearby rowhouses, and the co-op building is full-service, has a large roof deck, and allows pied-à-terres, co-purchases, and parents buying for children. You’re also in Greenwich Village, which is, of course, very nice.

Located on a cul-de-sac between Beekman and Sutton places, this elegant studio is on the eighth floor of a full-service pre-war co-op across the street from Riverhouse. The foyer has two large closets with the original paneled, mirrored doors. There’s a picture window with a view of the East River, a wood-burning fireplace, and a windowed bathroom. The only real downside is that the very cute kitchen, tucked into a corner of the main room behind folding doors, is teeny tiny. But maybe you’re not much of a cook.
