Real Madrid Will Sell Vinicius To Accommodate Mbappe, Says France Icon

Real Madrid will eventually sell Vinicius Jr. to accommodate Kylian Mbappe, whose arrival at the Bernabeu is also set to mean less goals for the team’s top scorer Jude Bellingham according to France legend William Gallas, speaking to Genting Casino.

Mbappe has already announced he will leave Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires on June 30, but not what his next destination will be other than saying it will be “super exciting”.

Barring any last-minute surprises, however, that it is expected to be the Bernabeu where will join a talented squad that already boasts top attacking players such as Vinicius and Rodrygo.

‘Vini’ in particular is having one of the best seasons of his career thus far, and is tipped to win the Ballon d’Or by many.

And while Gallas also backs him for football’s highest individual honor, he still thinks that the Brazilian’s days are numbered in the Spanish capital.

“Vinicius Jr. has been brilliant for Real Madrid, and if he wins the Champions League I think he will win the Ballon d’Or,” Gallas said.

“I don’t know what is going to happen when Kylian Mbappe comes to Real Madrid, because playing down the middle is not his position. I would not be surprised to see a front three of Vinicius Jr, Mbappe and Rodrygo, with Mbappe down the middle, then the next season they sell Vinicius Jr.”

Bellingham has been a revelation in a more attacking position this term after previously playing in a deeper playmaking role at his former club Borussia Dortmund.

Gallas doesn’t believe Mbappe playing down the middle will restrict Bellingham, but it will mean less goals for the Englishman currently in the running for Spain’s top scorer gong known as the Pichichi.

“I don’t think Mbappe playing down the middle will restrict Jude Bellingham. When he was at Dortmund, Bellingham did not play as high up the pitch as he does for Real Madrid, and he was still a great player,” Gallas noted.

“Bellingham will play behind Mbappe next season, he will properly be a part of a three-man midfield. I don’t expect Bellingham to score anywhere near the amount of goals he’s scored this season.

“He started well, but we’ve seen his goalscoring levels decrease in the last month or two. Bellingham is a midfielder, and he won’t have the system from this season to get the same amount of goals next year, and his Spanish opponents know what to expect from him now,” the former defender also predicted.
